Ahmed bin Saeed visits ‘Sanad Village’ stand during AccessAbilities Expo

Dubai, 15 November 2022: HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, visited Sanad Village stand at the fourth edition of the AccessAbilities Expo, which started today, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The stand of the region’s largest center dedicated to understanding autism and other related disorders, showcases real-life sensory simulations aimed at raising public awareness of autism and spreading the message of inclusivity.

Sanad Village stand will give visitors a feel of some of the challenges autistic individuals go through in their daily life. Some of these experiences will include the simulation of Sensory processing disorder (a condition that affects how the brain processes sensory information) and dyslexia (a learning disorder that affects the ability to read, spell, write, and speak).

Providing an opportunity to understand how people of determination process external environment and information, the activity will remind the people to be empathetic and open towards the needs and requirements of autistic people.

Salah Habib, CEO of Sanad Village, said: “Sanad Village is known for ensuring a comprehensive world-leading approach to rehabilitation that focuses on providing virtual facilities, simulating real-life experiences, which are vital components in enabling children at the village to prepare for the transition back into society. This time, at the AccessAbilities Expo, we are presenting it in reverse, allowing the visitors to feel and understand how autistic people experience the external environment”.

“More than a simulation activity, this encompasses a larger message of empathy and inclusivity. Autism and many other disorders remain poorly understood by the general public and corporates, and there is more that we have to do. AccessAbilities Expo provides the right engaging platform dedicated to increasing awareness and promoting tolerance.” – He added.

Various integrated services offered by Sanad Village towards Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), which have gained global attention, will be presented at the expo, which will run until 17 November.

Situated in the heart of Dubai at The Sustainable City (TSC), spread across an area of thirty-thousand Square meters with a capacity of accommodating 500 students, Sanad village, was first announced and launched in 2019 at the AccessAbilities Expo.

Accessibilities Expo, the Middle East region’s largest exhibition for People with Disabilities derived from the UAE’s vision of establishing an inclusive and compassionate society.
