GCCIA to Host International Forum on Energy Transition Towards Net Zero

Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, 20 October 2024 – Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef, the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) will host the forum “Powering the Future Toward Net Zero” on October 27-28 at the Kempinski Al Othman Hotel.

This event, organized with EPRI, GO15, and Med-TSO, aims to address current challenges and opportunities in the energy transition. The forum will serve as a significant platform for discussions on technology, market development, regional interconnections, storage solutions, and resource adequacy to achieve a net-zero grid.

GCCIA’s Role
GCCIA is crucial in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of power supply across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. By interconnecting power grids, GCCIA enables seamless electricity trade, promotes economic benefits, and enhances grid stability, positioning the GCC at the forefront of the energy transition.
